Fortified Space is a space sim and tower defense hybrid where players seize control of hostile planets as a Unified Earth Forces captain. The demo features space combat, planetary fortification building, and down-time activities like ship exploration, crew interaction, and Earth-based civic exploration. Players establish fortified zones to enable Marine landings, deploy defensive structures against enemy waves, and engage in fleet battles using ship turrets and railguns. The demo includes a full space-to-ground assault on Forgrit, a desert planet used as an enemy staging ground, with a 60-second fleet battle limit. Post-mission, players can return to reinforce defenses. The game emphasizes strategic defense, tactical combat, and post-battle downtime activities.
